About the Film Festival
What began as the screening of a handful of animated films in
1999 has evolved into a three-day celebration of independent film
that receives more than 100 submissions annually.
Join us at Darkside
Cinema and the historic Majestic
Theatre in downtown Corvallis during da Vinci Days for film
screenings in multiple genres including documentary, animation,
narrative shorts, and experimental films. Plus, enjoy film
shorts submitted in the Young Filmmaker category by middle and high
school age filmmakers.

What makes the da Vinci Film Festival
unique?
We encourage filmmakers to embrace the "Spirit of da Vinci" by
using new techniques and innovation in their filmmaking. This
includes both the filmmaking process and the way the story is
approached. Award winners are chosen from each film category, as
well as a special "Spirit of da Vinci" award which is awarded to
one film out of the entire festival.
At the beginning of each season, we open for submissions of any
style, including narrative, animation, experimental, and
documentary. There is a special film category for Young Filmmakers
(middle and high school students). For more information about
submitting a film and how films are selected to be screened at the
festival, please see the Filmmaker FAQs.
Films may be sumitted for consideration through Withoutabox, our on-line submission
process.
