Beatboxing - The Fifth Element of Hip Hop
Klaus Schneyder
DOCUMENTARY
In the late '70s a highly energized street culture began to
emerge in the poorer sections of New York, an urban blend of
expression wrapped up in the form of graffiti, DJing, breakdancing,
and rapping. And to that mix, a new form of music creation also
emerged: beatboxing. Want to make music but you don't have an
instrument? Think again! The human body is capable of making an
incredible variety of musical sound. BEATBOXING: THE FIFTH ELEMENT
OF HIP-HOP traces the history of beatboxing and also follows the
art form as it has continuously evolved to become a truly global
phenomenon.
